What is God’s Real Name?
He is referred to primarily as Yahweh or Jehovah
FYI: Yahweh (Hebrew) God of the Israelites. Four times this name was revealed to Moses as as (YHWH).Jehovah is the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible. God is referred to as Jehovah or JEHOVAH four times in the Old Testament. Yahweh is the traditional Hebrew name while JEHOVAH has become His modern name. Both are His names as deity, God, Lord, Saviour. At times He was also referred to as “Abba” which means Father or Papa. In the New Testament for the first time He became known as our Heavenly Father. The name varies because the same name is pronounced differently in Hebrew, Greek, or Latin. Example: His name shall be called Emmanuel also Immanuel which means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). Names ending in EL also refer to deity – TC
The Almighty God
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). These lessons are designed to help you know more about God. As you know more, then you will believe more. As you believe more you will know that He is God. You will see Who He is and who you are. He is the Creator and you are His creation. Without God there would be no beginning, life or hope. God is the great “I AM,” meaning that He is not the “I WAS” or “I WILL BE.” As God was with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob He continues to be with all generations today. He is the one true God and there is none other. Scriptures make known a supernatural God. You can only know God as He is revealed in the Scriptures. Apart from the Scriptures it is impossible to know God. The world cannot know God ( I Corinthians 1:21). He is an unknown God to the world (Acts 17:23). Natural man cannot receive or understand the things of God (I Corinthians 2:14).
How Things Consist and Exist
If you really want to know why and how things consist and exist you must go to the Word of God. The Word of God is the only assurance, absolute, and authority of God. If you want to know about Abe Lincoln, go to a history book. But if you want to know about God, you must go to the Bible. Jesus is God in a body. The church is God in believers. The Bible is God in a book. It is the only book that reveals God to man. The Bible states, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen.1:1) Thousands of years later, the New Testament states, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible… all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” (Col.1:16-17). The word “consist” means to be in a fixed state; made and held together; to be compatible. (Websters). It is amazing that at the time of creation, God created all things to continually consist and continually exist unto this day. A Scientist said, “We cannot create, but only discover, things that already exist. It seems when we open one door, there are seven more locked and unopened. We know certain things work but we do not know how and why.” A group of scientists decided to create man without God. As they scooped up the dirt. God said, “Get your own dirt.” Man must create from something, but God created from nothing. Without God, there would be no beginnings. God is totally self-existent within Himself. God also created all things to be self-existing and continually self-consisting. Because you do not see God, does not mean He does not exist. A blind person can not see colors, but they still exist. A deaf person can not hear music, but music still exists. Because you do not understand, does not mean it does not exist. You don’t understand gravity, but it still exists. If God just withheld His existence for just five minutes, all would cease to exist. Think about it! Take a deep breath and be thankful that you still exist. Open your heart and believe. You exist because of the existence of an almighty God. God has given you a mind to think, a heart to know and a will to decide. There was a time you did not exist, but there will not be a time you will cease to exist. You have an eternal soul. You are not a body with a soul, but a soul with a body. Your body will die, but you will still exist. You have an appointment with an inescapable God. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Heb.9:27). Your choice while you exist, will determine where you will exist forever (John 3:16). This is how things consist and exist.

The Real Purpose of Life
I read, “More people than ever before are identifying as atheist, agnostic, or nonreligious.” (news. nationalgeographic.com). It seems the world is searching for the purpose of life in all the wrong places. Someone asked Mrs. Albert Einstein, “Do you understand the theory of relativity?” She smiled and said, “No, but I do understand Albert.” First I am not a scientist or the grandson of Einstein. I am a simple Christian who simply believes Scriptures. Do I understand creation? No, but I do understand and believe God. In my research it seems almost all agree that four things are needed to make *all things consist and exist: Time – Energy – Space – Matter. As a Christian I naturally added source, because someone or some thing had to create it. I also learned that all five essential things are in proper sequence orden in the first ten words of Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning (1.Time) God (2. Source) created (3. Energy) heaven (4. Space) and earth (5. Matter).” Note: It required energy to create and empty space to contain matter. Thousands of years later Scriptures again attest Genesis 1:1, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible… or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” (Col. 1:16-17). Notice the three “all lthings” which means “all things.” By Him “all things” both consist and exist. After creation God rested. Rested means God ended His creation. Amazing! What God once created still continues to be self-existing and self-consisting. Why did God do this? Man (represents all people) was made for God, but God made all things for man (all people, including you). When God created man, He put within him a longing and emptiness that only He can fill and satisfy. “For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” Many seek to fill that emptiness with things, but only God can fill that emptiness with His peace. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom. 5:1). God created all things for you, but God is not interested in things. God is only interested in people. God is interested in you. Yes – You! “For God so loved the world (includes you), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (includes you) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “He that hath the Son (Jesus Christ) hath (eternal) life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1Jn 5:12). Dear friend, you either hath or hath not the Son. Once you hath the Son, He changes your life and fills that emptiness and longing in your soul (II Cor. 5:17). For the first time you experience and know the real purpose of your life.
No God – No Peace. Know God – Know Peace.
