As you open your Christmas cards and gifts this Christmas, don’t ignore your Christmas card and Christmas gift from God. Think about it! The Scriptures are God’s Christmas card to you (John 5:39), and Jesus Christ is God’s Christmas gift to you (2 Cor. 9:15; Eph.2:8).
Christmas Cards: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isa. 9:6). “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. (Luke 2:11-12). “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21).
Christmas Gift: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (YOU) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom. 6:23). The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, who was the Son in the manger, the Servant in life, our Sacrifice on the cross, our Substitute in the tomb, and our Saviour as He rose from the grave. Without Christ, there would be no Christmas or Christianity. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with Christ. The greatest gift needed is Christ. “If our greatest need had been education, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness. So God sent us a Saviour.” (Roy Lessin). Our greatest need is the Gift of eternal life – Jesus Christ.
Think of it! The Scriptures are God’s Christmas card to YOU. Jesus Christ is God’s Christmas gift to YOU. You may die unsaved, but you will not die unloved – God loves YOU! “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1Jn 5:12). This Christmas read God’s card and receive God’s gift. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). God says to you “who hath not the son,” “This Christmas please read My card then receive My gift of eternal life through my Son, Jesus Christ (Rom. 6:23).” Without Christ there would be no Christmas!
This Christmas card and Christmas gift is sent especially to you, you, you, you, and even YOU! Please don’t leave His Christmas card unread and His Christmas gift unopened!
