As you open your Christmas cards and gifts this Christmas, don’t ignore your Christmas card and Christmas gift from God. Think about it! The Scriptures are God’s Christmas card to you, and Jesus Christ is God’s gift to you. Card: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:11-12). “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isa. 9:6). Gift: “For God so loved the world, that he gave (gift) his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). Think about it! God gives you the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). This is the greatest gift you could receive this Christmas. Why? It is an eternal gift in Heaven with God. Before we open the gift, let’s learn God’s Christmas Story. The Christmas Story is the Story of Christ. Without Christ there would be no Christmas. The story began with the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Joseph, her husband. God (Jesus’ Father) named Jesus at his birth (Matthew 1:21). Jesus Christ was the Son in the manger. He was the Servant in life. He was our Sacrifice on the cross, He was our Substitute in the tomb, He is our Saviour as He rose from the grave. The greatest gift of Christmas is Christ. Again, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (you) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (In Heaven)” (John 3:16). Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with Christ. “If our greatest need had been information, technology, money, or pleasure, God would have sent us an educator, scientist, economist, or entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Saviour” (Roy Lessin – adapted by TC).
Open your Christmas card and gift! God gives His Gift. Will you receive it? An unreceived gift remains unopened and unused. You can receive or reject a gift. If you do nothing, you still do not have the gift. If you neglect it, you reject it. It is only yours when you receive it. When you reject or neglect Jesus Christ, you also reject the gift of eternal life. When you receive Jesus Christ, you also receive all that comes with Him. You are given a new changed life (2 Cor. 5:17), peace, joy, and eternal life in Heaven. Remember the gift is free. If you have to pay or work for it, it is not a gift. This year receive the best Christmas gift you will ever have. Believe Jesus Christ was the sacrifice for your sins. He died in your place, and rose to become your Saviour. Believe and receive Him as your Gift from God. “But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God (in the family of God), even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). If you are not sure you are saved, be sure now. You can now receive God’s free gift to you and be sure you are saved. It does not matter if you are Deaf, because God understands all languages. It does not matter if you are poor, because it is a free gift. I want to meet you in Heaven. Don’t die without Christ! Be saved now! By faith reach out and receive God’s gift to you. Pray: “Yes! I now turn to God from my sins and receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. I am now saved! Amen!”
