There is a time to laugh (Eccl. 3:4). Why? Because “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” (Prov. 17:22). Laughter is a prescription to replace gloom with gladness. So during a pandemic or panic take doses of humor until you smile or even laugh. There is a time to laugh, I hope this is one of those times. Condensed from “My Laugh Lines.”

Family: She: “What are you going to do today?” He: “Nothing!” She: “That’s what you did yesterday.” He: “I know, I did not get finished.” She: “Well, son, what are you doing?”  “I’m helping dad.” = He: “You are impossible!” She: (As she moved near him) “No, I’m next to impossible.” = She: “I remember when you nibbled my neck.” He: “Be right back, I’m going to get my teeth.” = He: “Honey it’s your birthday. Where do you want to go?” “I don’t care as long as it is expensive.” So he took her to the gas station. = A woman marries a man expecting him to change, but he doesn’t. A man marries a woman expecting her not to change, but she does. =

Patient: “Doctor I feel inferior.” “It’s alright, you are inferior.” = “Doctor, I have a problem. I keep forgetting things.” “Let’s talk about your problem.” Patient: “What problem?” = “Doctor, when I touch my side it hurts, when I touch my head it hurts, when I touch my knee it hurts.” Doctor: “You have a broken finger.” = Nurse: “Drink your milk, it is good for your bones and teeth.” “Well, put my milk in that glass, that’s where my teeth are.”  

Church: The pastor and deacons ran and jumped into the Honda. It was the first time they had all been in one Accord. = A boy swallowed a quarter. Everyone tried to help but failed. Finally someone yelled, “Take him to the pastor. He can get money out of anyone.” = A boy pulled off his tie and put it into the offering plate. The mother pulled it out and said, “What are you doing? “But he said give your ties and offerings.” Day of church head-knockers: A man was snoring and the head-knocker hit him hard. As he lay in the pew he said, “Hit me again, I can still hear him.” Nursery Signs: “Bawl Room.” “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed” (1 Cor. 15:51). Wisdom: Be who you is, cuz if you ain’t who you is then you is what you ain’t.”

Well, did you laugh or at least a smile?  If so, then give your smile to someone else. “A smile is understood in all languages” – Mark Twain. Also, remember that there are times when everyone needs a hug, smile, or a laugh. So, smile and laugh a little more, you will be glad you did and so will others! A Time to Laugh
