It seems that many are now viewing Christmas and Easter as just another holiday such as Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, New Year’s Day or President’s Day. Christmas thoughts are on gifts and Easter thoughts are on garments. But Christmas and Easter are not just common and celebrated holidays. Christmas represents the special day that God gave the greatest gift to this world (John 3:16). We celebrate the day that the virgin Mary gave birth to God’s Son and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Jesus was Emmanuel which means, God with us. Easter represents the day that Jesus Christ became our sacrifice for sin. Then three days later He became our risen Saviour. We celebrate holidays for many great events, men and leaders, many sacrificed much, but only one was born of a virgin, and only one was raised from the grave. Christmas: Fulfills all Scriptures and qualifies Jesus as the virgin-born, sinless and spotless Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. Easter: Fulfills all Scriptures and qualifies Jesus to be the risen Saviour and Messiah of all mankind. Jesus Christ was the Messiah and Promised One.
Christmas and Easter display that Jesus Christ was virgin born as the sinless Son of God. Many have died on crosses for good causes, but Jesus Christ was the only One raised from the grave. In birth, Jesus was the Son of God (John 3:16). In life, Jesus was the Servant of God (Luke 2:49). On the cross, Jesus Christ was the only and last sacrifice for sin (Heb. 10:12). In the tomb, Jesus Christ was our substitute for death. On the third day, Jesus Christ arose as our Lord and risen Saviour (1 Peter 1:3).
Jesus then ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. There was no chair in the Tabernacle so the ministry of the Priest never ended and he never sat down and rested. When Jesus sat down It signified all His ministry was finished (Heb. 10:12). What Adam lost, Jesus restored (Rom. 5:19). Jesus Christ became our Mediator, Middle Man, Advocate, and Access bridging the gap between man and God (Eph. 2:18; 1John 2:1; 1 Tim. 2:5).
So Christmas and Easter is not just another common holiday. Christmas and Easter represent two of the greatest exceptional, extraordinary, events ever known in the history of mankind. One day other Holidays will fade, finalize, and be forgotten, but we will forever celebrate the marvelous, majestic, monumental, and memorable days of Christmas and Easter!

Merry Christmas 2021 – Y’All
