“Darker For the Deaf”

The world is dark for everyone,
It’s black and tastes of death;
But though the world in darkness lies,
It’s darker for the deaf,
And though the world has blinded eyes
It’s darker for the deaf.

The world breathes in the smoke of Hell,
And smells of dragon breath;
But though the smoke the world surrounds,
It’s darker for the deaf,
And though the darkness e’er abounds,
It’s darker for the deaf.

The world is of the light deprived,
And of all hope bereft;
But though the world is hopeless, still
It’s darker for the deaf,
And though the world in death lies chill,
It’s darker for the deaf.
