Deaf Can Rejoice, Be Thankful and Pray
What should Deaf people do during COVID-19? We should do these three things: rejoice, be thankful, and pray. (1) “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice” (Phil. 4:4). We are always to rejoice and be thankful at all times. We should rejoice, even during COVID-19. (2) “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts…and be ye thankful” (Col. 3:15). We should be thankful at all times, even during bad times. Don’t become unthankful (Rom. 1:21). (3) “Pray without ceasing” (1Thess. 5:17). ”Wherefore also we pray always for you” (2 Thess. 1:11). During this shut-down time, don’t forget to pray. Pray at all times. Pray when you stand in line at stores. Pray before you eat. Pray when you are alone. “Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests (prayers) be made known unto God” (Phil. 4:6). Daniel was a good example of a man who prayed to God three times a day. He did not let anything stop him from his prayer time with God. You can also pray at any time (Psalms 55:17). Pray about your problems and sorrows. Pray about your fears and discouragement. Pray for help to understand the Bible. Pray for others who are sick and in need. Pray for America, missionaries, pastors, your church, friends, family, things, health, and the unsaved. My uncle, John R. Rice, prayed daily for a list of over 200 names. We can pray in Sign Language or from our heart. God understands. So during this special time we should do three things: rejoice at all times, be thankful at all times and pray at all times. The Deaf can do it because I do it, and I am deaf.
