“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there” (Psa. 139:7). As I read this I was inspired to write, “When God is not here, He is there. When God is not there, He is here. He is always both here and there… because God is everywhere.” Everyone needs to face the fact that God is God and He is everywhere at all times. He is omnipresent meaning He is all present in all places at all times. No matter what you think, you can think wrong.
There is a saying, “God said it, I believe, and it is so.” Well, it is true whether you believe it or not. God does not change for man, but man must change for God. God is the Creator and we are His creation. God is omnipresent (all places), omnipotent (all powerful), and omniscient (all knowing). God is everywhere, all powerful and knows everything simultaneously. Even though you may not see Him, He is there.
One man said, “I will hide from God.” He traveled a great distance to a far-away city. As he sat in a dark hotel room, he sighed, “God is here.” You can run but you cannot hide. Some may deny or ignore Him but He still exists. There was never a time that God was not there. He is from everlasting to everlasting (Psa. 90:2). There are billions and billions of stars, but He knows every star by name (Psa. 147:4).
There are over 7 billion people in this world and God knows each one by name. He is God. A father and son were in a field stealing watermelons. The dad told his son to be his lookout. The son looked towards the north, south, east and west and saw no one. As they left with the stolen melons, the son said, “Dad, we forgot to look up.”
Everyone, including atheists, are accountable to an almighty God. There was a time that you were not, but there will not be. Your body dies but you still exist. God has promised to be there for those who die in Christ. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” (2 Cor. 5:8). Dear friend, You may not believe in God now, but after death you will believe. You have an uncancellable divine appointment with an inescapable God that cannot be postponed. After death He is there to meet you. Are you prepared to meet God? “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27). So, as you live this day going here, there and everywhere, “Don’t forget to look up.”
