“Omit” means to neglect something that is required. (Webster). The sin of omission would be to neglect things that the Lord requires of you. If you continually omit and neglect things the Lord requires of you, there will be regrets. Many good intentions remain undone. Your biggest regret at the end of life won’t be the things you did, but the things you left undone! According to a recent research by two social psychologists, time is a key factor in what we regret. Over the short-term, you tend to regret actions—things you did that you wish you hadn’t. But over the long-haul, you tend to regret inactions—things you didn’t do but wish you had. The study found that inaction regrets (84%) outweigh action regrets (16%). Inaction regrets are regretful and remembered.

Regrets are past undones! Seek to be a blessing and not a burden. When you have a pain, don’t be one. Don’t attack the person, but attack the problem. Don’t be part of the problem, but become part of the solutionStop criticizing and start creating. Expand your horizons. Accumulate good experiences. Consider the lilacs that bloom. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. It is not who is right or wrong but what is right or wrong. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshiping what’s right with God. Burn sinful bridges.

Laugh at yourself. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don’t try to be who you’re not. Be who you is, cuz, if you ain’t who you is then you is who you ain’t. Quit holding back, postponing, and hesitating. Don’t live a life of regrets thinking about what you could have done, but did not. Stop thinking about “if only…” or “Why didn’t I …” or “I had the opportunity but…” Do It! “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you” (Phil. 4:9).

Remember: Unsown seeds reap no harvest. Unspoken words offer no comfort. Unwritten songs are unheard. Unsent cards never encourage. Unwritten poems inspire no one – Ungiven gifts are never received. Unpreached messages remain unheard. Ungiven love is never felt. Unfinished tasks are not rewarded – Ungiven tracts reap no harvest. Unsaid prayers remain silent. Unwritten words are never read. Start now and undo some of your undones. You cannot change the past, but you can change the future. Don’t omit but submit – Do It!
