What you decide today determines what you become tomorrow (Prov. 23:7). Decisions Determine Directions – Directions Determine Destinations. Each day life is filled with hundreds of decisions that determined our directions and destinations. Make good decisions. Replace bad habits with good habits. This year follow the Lord’s example! “And Jesus increased in (1) wisdom and (2) stature, and in (3) favour with God and (4) man” (Luke 2:52). As the Lord, we also need to continually increase in four areas for a full and fruitful life for the Lord.

This year seek to Increase: (1) In Wisdom (mentally). Never stop learning. Read, study, listen, and seek knowledge. Ask specifically for wisdom (James 1:5). When you stop knowing, you stop growing. When you stop learning, you stop leading. Good news! As knowledge increases, ignorance decreases. (2) In Stature (physically). Because of physical neglect many have died prematurely. This is sad because it could have been prevented. Many have lost quantity and quality of many precious years. The late Oliver Green said, “Evangelism killed me. People and pastors continually overfed me.” Note: We cannot change others, but we can change ourselves. Mark Twain said, “Quitting smoking is easy, I have done it hundreds of times.” Some say, “I can resist everything but temptation.” Doctors often say, “If only he had come to me earlier.” Poor health can also hinder you from fully serving the Lord. Don’t let your body control your life. Seek to stay hearty and healthy. (3) In Favor with God (spiritually). Seek relationships, not rituals or rules. God created all things for man, but He created man for God. Be still and “know” God (Psa. 46:10). Stay close to God. Draw nigh to God, and God will draw nigh to you (James 4:8). Enoch walked with God. Abraham was a friend of God. There is no substitute for a good relationship with God. Make your days full of life, not just a life full of days. Maintain favor with God. (4) In Favor with man (socially). We were made with a “desire” for relationships because God wants to have a “relationship” with us. Everyone loves to be loved. Don’t love things but love people. You cannot add years to your life, but you can add life to your years. Don’t die with a life full of years but live years full of life. Don’t count the years, but make the years count.

In closing, do not excel in just one area and neglect the other three. You cannot change 2023, but you can change 2024. Remember, “Loving moments make lasting memories.” So do your giving while you are a living, so you will be knowing where it is a going! This new year steadily increase mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially. You will have a happier New Year and so will family, friends, doctors, and God. Four Facts For Full Fruitful Future
