(2) Fear Not: Children are taught that certain things are a “No – no!” When they do a “No – No” they get a certain look from their father/mother and immediately stop. I learned from my mother. Well, the Lord has four “No – nos and at times He also guides his children with a “No-No” look. “I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psa. 32:8).
Fear Not: To Moses: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid…for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deut. 31:6; Heb. 13:5). To Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Josh.1:9). Fear Not – Why? Fear hath torment (I John 4:18). Fearis not of God (2 Tim. 1:7). Fear not fears of the unknown, unexpected and uncertain. Fear not fears of darkness, disease, disaster, and death. Note: You cannot have fear and faith at the same time. They are incompatible. Fact: Faith fades Fear – Fear fades Faith. Faith is to believe what you do not see and see what you believe. When faith decreases, fear increases or vice verse. Fear has never solved one problem. Most of your fears never actually happen. When it does happen, it was not as bad as you thought. Your fears were worse than what you feared. You suffered unnecessary anxiety. Fears of darkness fade as light reveals truth. Don’t let fear control your thoughts. Stop false thinking but think on true things You can only think one thought at a time so, when you think good things, you will not think bad things (Phil. 4:8-9). Don’t make mountains out of molehills. When you think on fear it becomes deeply recorded in your mind.
Replace fear with faith. The Bible mentions“Fear Not” in 62 verses then follows with words of peace and comfort. Example: Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee:be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Memorize and quote this verse in times of fear. Remember the Great “I AM” is with you.
We must learn to (1) face fear, (2) fight fear, and (3)forget fear. Unfocus on fear and focus on faith. Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. When we fear, we should say to ourselves, “This is a no-no.” Faith is a yes-yes! “By faith” we “fear not!” “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: (why?) for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psa.23:4). When fear appears say to the Lord, “That’s a no-no!” Why? Because thou art with me.Fear Not! (Continued)
