“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” (Romans 15:13).
Since mid-March, our lives have changed – in America, and around the world. Changes include churches being closed; only take-out service for restaurants; schools and colleges closed; people working from home (if they have not lost their jobs); and other activities stopped. When we go out to the food store, we must have a mask and gloves on for protection. Truly there is fear in the hearts of many people because of these changes.
Now is the time for us, as godly women, to show the hope, joy, and peace that only comes from our Lord and Savior. We have the answer! It is found in our God of hope and shown as our lives show the power of the Holy Spirit! As a mother, my heart aches for our children living in New York and New Jersey, having to deal with hard times. They sometimes wait in line for over an hour before getting into the food store. Then there are limited things to choose from. But God is always good to them. Our daughter-in-law is a nurse and is on the front lines daily, helping those who are sick. She is a blessing! Truly my heart is rejoicing to see our children shine as lights for the Lord where they are! God has opened doors for them to witness to neighbors, doctors, nurses, Muslim friends, and others. It is a blessing to know that the God of hope who gives joy and peace will work in and through us during difficult times. It is the Holy Spirit who is always with us, that gives us the power to stand for Him. Open your eyes and watch Him work! He will give you the wisdom you need and the right words to say. People are looking for hope today. We have the answer. “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
