Joshua said, “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve” (Joshua 24:14). Every day there are decisions and choices you must make. You have no choice about choices. Choices began with Adam and continue unto this day.  Adam made a bad choice and ate of the fruit. His choice brought consequences (Romans 5:12). One of the greatest powers you possess is the power of choice. Not even God will force you against your will. The Devil cannot make you sin, and God will not make you serve. Decisions Determine Directions – Directions Determine Destinations. Some rejoice because of good decisions, while others regret bad decisions.  Some say after bad decisions, “If only I had …”

If only… Adam had obeyed God…Cain had offered a lamb… King Saul had obeyed God… Samson had ignored Delilah… Achan had not sinned… Ananias and Sapphira had not been greedy… Demas had not forsaken Paul. If only the rich man had died as Lazarus (Luke 16:23). Decisions determine directions.

What if… God said, I don’t do creations.” Noah said, “I don’t do boats!” Moses said, “I don’t do Laws.” David said, “I don’t do giants.” Joshua  said, “I don’t do walls.” Peter said, “I don’t do Pentecosts.” Paul said, “I don’t do Gentiles.” John said, “I don’t do revelations.” Mary said, “I don’t do virgin births.” The Lord said, “I don’t do crosses.” What have you done and what have you left undone? You cannot change others, but you can change yourself. Also, you cannot help anyone that does not want help.

One man said, “After all these years, I changed because for the first time in my life I wanted to change.” Do you really want to change? Choose ye this day to change your life. Consider your choices then count the cost! Sin always results in regrets (James 1:15).  You cannot change the past, but you can change the future. No one can decide for you. It is your choice! Doing nothing is also a choice. As the prodigal in the hog pen, come to your senses, change your directions, return to your father. When you decide your directions you will change your destinations. As he returned his father ran to him and welcomed him home. He gave him a ring, robe, feast, and they rejoiced together (Luke 15:11-32). What if he had not returned? What will happen if you do not return? Wonder what is waiting for you? Decisions determine directions. What will be your destination? Choices bring you rejoicing or regrets!  It is your choice!
