Jesus said, “I did not come to abolish them (law) but to fulfill them” (Matt.5:17). It seems that all husbands have a “Honey-Do” list from their wives. Many also have a “To-Do List” to remind them of things they need to do. As they do it they check [X] the “done” box. As you finish a To-Do task you are fulfilled, because there is now one less task to do. Then I thought, Jesus also had a To-Do List. (Some estimate Jesus fulfilled over 550 OT prophecies, others estimate over 450. But all agree He fulfilled at least 300+ OT prophecies). Key Verse: “And he (Jesus) said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled [X], which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me” (Luke 24:44).

Some of His To-Do List: Born Bethlehem: OT Micah 5:2 – NT Matthew 2:1 [X]. Virgin Born: OT Isaiah 7:14 – NT Matthew 1:23 [X]. Despised and rejected: OT (Isaiah 53:1-3) – NT John 1:12 [X]. Offering for sin: OT Isaiah 53:10 – NT John 1:29 [X]. Note: Just in one book He fulfilled [X]15 OT prophecies (Matthew 1:22; 2:15; 2:17; 2:23; 4:14; 8:17; 12:17; 13:14; 13:35; 21:4; 24:34; 26:54; 26:56; 27:9; 27:35). In Mark 14:49 Jesus said, “The scriptures must be fulfilled.” In Luke 24:44 Jesus spoke, “…all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me” In John 15:25 Jesus said, “But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled.” Each day He was reminded of His To-Do List. There are 81 NT verses stating what “must” be done to fulfill Scriptures (E-Sword).

He checked off His life-time To-Do List until He was on the cross where He became the final and last sacrifice for sin (Heb 10:12). As He died He said, “It is finished.” All Scriptures were fulfilled. His To-Do List was finished [X]. Not one on the list was omitted, canceled, or left undone – Not one!

Later He arose from the grave and ascended to Heaven to become the first High Priest to sit down. Why? Because all the work of the High Priest was also done [X] (Heb.10:12). For the first time sin was no longer covered or atoned but taken away (John 1:29). Awesome! What Adam lost, Jesus restored (John 1:12). For the first time Jesus became the access, bridge, mediator, and middle man between man and God (Eph. 2:18). The door to God was now opened to all mankind through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).  Incomprehensible! The Lord checked [X] and fulfilled each and every Scripture, not one was missed, skipped or postponed. As my  granddaughter says when she finishes something, “All Done!” As Jesus sit down, He could look at His To-Do List [X] and also say, “All Done!Well Done my good and faithful Master!

BTW: Jesus Christ has another To-Do List for His soon coming again (Acts 1:11).
