Are Deaf People Lost?
When this question is asked, some people will answer, “No, deaf people are not lost…because they are as children in the eyes of the Lord… because they cannot understand the Bible…because Deaf people are handicapped…because they are deaf and the Lord will pity them …because they cannot call upon the name of the Lord with their voice… because they cannot hear the preacher.”
Are deaf people lost? The correct answer is “yes!” Deaf people are lost and need to be saved the same as all other people in the world.
Deaf people are not as children. They have a communication problem, not an intelligence problem. Mentally, deaf people are the same as hearing people. Physically, they are different because they cannot hear. A deaf person’s IQ and learning abilities are the same as a hearing person. Deaf people are not dumb. Deafness is a physical handicap, not a spiritual handicap. A deaf person can learn; he just needs someone to teach him in a language he understands. Deaf can understand the Gospel.
A deaf person can hear the Word of God (Romans 10:17). A deaf person can confess with his mouth (Romans 10:9). A deaf person “hears” with his eyes in Sign Language. He can confess in words with his hands.
God does not have special pity for deaf people. God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Blind people, crippled people, hearing people all need to be saved and deaf people also need to be saved.
Some deaf people can read and understand the Bible and tracts. Deaf can understand Sign Language from Interpreters, preachers, or teachers. Deaf people need someone to communicate in their own deaf world and culture. Deaf people have their own world and language the same as Spanish or any other foreign countries have their own language.
Deaf People Can Go To Heaven
“The Lord is not … willing that any (includes deaf) should perish” (ll Peter 3:9). “For God so loved the world, (includes deaf) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
Deaf people have a soul the same as other people. Deaf people are lost and need to be saved. Deaf people can be saved and go to Heaven the same as other people. Deaf people will not go to Hell because they are deaf, they will go to Hell because they are “without Christ.” All people who die without Christ will not go to Heaven. “He that hath the Son hath life …” (1 John 5:12). Don’t die without Christ.
Deaf People Are Lost
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The word all includes deaf people. A person does not become a sinner, but he is born a sinner. Children are born knowing how to do wrong. No one teaches children how to lie, cheat, steal, be angry or rebel. All people (including Deaf) are born sinners. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). All people without Christ will be cast into a lake of fire. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
Many have their name in the church book but not the “Book of Life” (Luke 10:20). Make sure you name is in the “Book of Life.” Don’t die without Christ.
All people are saved one way … “He (all people) that hath the son hath life” (I John 5:12). A person does not go to Heaven because he belongs to a certain church. There are many different religions but only one Gospel. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Don’t die without Christ.
Can A Deaf Person Be Saved?
Deaf people also need to pray and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Do you want to go to Heaven? In the past, deaf people never had the opportunity you now have. Also people in Hell would give anything to have another opportunity to be saved. Deaf friend, do not die without Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He died for your sins, rose from the grave and waits for you to pray and receive Him. You can pray in Sign Language, pray from your heart or pray the words given in this tract. God will understand you.
Decide Now!
Do not wait to make this important decision. Decide now to be saved because tomorrow may be too late. Do not put this tract down without being sure you are saved. One day you will die. It will be too late to pray. God is now waiting for your decision. We want to meet you in Heaven.
Be Saved Now
[ ] Yes, I want to be saved and know that I can go to Heaven. Pray: “Dear God, I know I have sinned. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive my sin. I believe He rose from the grave and is alive in Heaven to save me and give me eternal life. I now repent (turn from my sin) and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. According to the Bible, I am now saved.”
