Description
Your Appointment with God
You have an appointment with God and death. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). You can break your appointments with doctors, but you must meet God. One day your body will be placed in a coffin at the funeral home. Now, the most important question I can ask, “If you died today would you go to Heaven or Hell?” If you answer “Heaven,” my next question is “Why?” Your soul and eternity depend upon the right Bible answer. If you are not sure of your eternal home, please continue to read and learn how you can go to Heaven. Only the Bible teaches about Heaven, Hell, your soul, death and eternity. My personal opinions or your opinions are not important, but what does the Bible teach? The Bible is the only absolute!
Only One Gospel
There are many churches, but only one Gospel. There are many religions, but there is only one Gospel. The Gospel is the “good news” that Jesus Christ died in your place, arose to forgive you, and is now in Heaven waiting for you to receive Him as Saviour (John 1:12).
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it (gospel) is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (all).”– Romans 1:16
“But though we, or an angel… preach any other gospel … than that which we have preached… let him be accursed ….
If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1:8-9
Only One Saviour
There are many different religious leaders, but only one Saviour. Many follow Mohammed, Joseph Smith, Mary Baker Eddy, and many others, but there is only one Saviour from God.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
– Acts 4:12
Only One way to heaven
Many ways may seem right, but there is only one way to Heaven. There are many ways to Washington, DC, the capital, but there is only one way to Heaven. Many think they are going to Heaven because of their church or religion. When you meet God, He will not ask you the name of your church but what have you done with Christ. God will not ask you, “Are you Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Jew, Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon, Methodist or Muslim?”
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (destruction).” – Proverbs 14:12
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (Jesus).” – John 14:6
The Gospel in One Verse
“For God so loved the world (you), that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever (all) believeth in him (Jesus) should not perish (in Hell), but have everlasting life (in Heaven).” – John 3:16
Four Things You Need To Know
1. Know All Have Sin – All have sinned, so all need to be saved. You do not become a sinner but you are born a sinner. Every one is a sinner by birth from our first parents, Adam and Eve. “Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). All includes all people, all deaf, hearing, rich, poor, young or old. This means you have sin, because all have sin.
2. Know the Punishment of Sin – Sin must be judged and punished. All people who die in their sins without Jesus Christ will go to Hell. The Bible tells a story of two men who died. One went to be with God and the other to Hell.
One man died without Christ. “And in Hell he lift up his eyes” (Luke 16:23). There is a Hell and there is a Heaven. All in Christ go to Heaven, and all without Christ go to Hell. Saved means saved from Hell. God does not want you in Hell. He wants you in Heaven. God gave Jesus to die in your place for your sin and punishment. Jesus took your place on the cross to save you.
3. Know Jesus is the Way To Heaven – Why did Jesus Christ come? “For the Son of man (Jesus) is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). God only has one way for sins to be forgiven. God gave His Son to make a way for you to go to Heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father (in Heaven), but by me” (John 14:6). No man means no one can go to Heaven without Jesus. God cannot lie. “He that hath the Son (Jesus) hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God (Jesus) hath not life” (I John 5:12). Are you a hath or hath not? “Hath” means to “have” Jesus!
4. You Must Choose – After you understand the Gospel – Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins, arose from the grave to forgive you, and is now alive to save you – you personally must want to be saved. You must say “yes” to God and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour. No one can decide for you. It is your personal choice. You were born alone, you will die alone, and you will meet God alone. You can be saved right now! As you understand the Gospel, the Holy Spirit puts a desire in your heart to be saved. Remember, no one is saved without Jesus – No one! Be Saved Now
You have an appointment with God. He will not ask if your name is on the church books but if you name is in the Book of Life.
“But rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” – Luke 10:20
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” – Revelation 20:15
“But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” – John 1:12
Pray: “Dear God, I know I have an appointment to meet you. I don’t want to meet you without Christ as my Savior. I know I have sinned. I know Christ died for me and rose to forgive my sins. I now repent of my sins and receive Jesus Christ as my Savior. I am now saved and ready to meet you.”
