The two greatest celebrations for Christians are Christmas and Easter. Christians do not celebrate the dates but we do celebrate the Divine events. The birth (Christmas) and resurrection (Easter) of our Saviour. Easter is also associated with springtime, new life, renewal, and new beginnings. The world celebrated Easter (Ester goddess of dawn) with new life symbols of eggs (new life) and rabbits (symbols of fertility) hundreds of years before Christ was born. Christians used Easter to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection (new life) of our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter is springtime. Nature also celebrates springtime as dead grass becomes green, trees bud, bees buzz, birds sing and showers bring flowers. Every time a flower blooms or a tree buds, it preaches resurrection. Death of winter is passed and spring has sprung.

Easter is the Gospel (good news) that Jesus died, was buried, and arose from the grave. Because He lives, we will also live. Only Christianity has a risen Savior. He is risen. “Moreover… I declare unto you the gospel … By which also ye are saved … how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (I Cor. 15:1-4). All three, the (1) death, (2) burial and (3) resurrection are included in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. On the cross, Jesus Christ became our (1) SACRIFICE. In the grave, He became our (2) SUBSTITUTE. In the resurrection, He became our living (3) SAVIOR! There are many religions, but only one Gospel. No one is saved without the Gospel. No one can go to Heaven without Christ – No one (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). No one includes you, you, and you. Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with Christ.

Jesus still saves and changes lives. How do I know? When I was 23 years of age, He saved me and changed my life. No one has ever regretted being saved. Those without Christ have no hope (Eph.2:12). Those in Christ have hope (Col. 1:27). Good News! This Easter He can also eternally change your life (2 Cor. 5:17; John 10:28). Simply believe and receive Jesus Christ as your risen Savior (John 1:12). “He that hath the Son (Jesus) hath (eternal) life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:12). The greatest testimony of Christianity is a changed and consistent life for Christ. So as you see Easter springtime springing, remembering Jesus sprang from the grave. He is risen – He is risen indeed! Look at new life springing! Listen to birds singing! Learn that Christ is risen – He is risen indeed! It is Spiritual Springtime.
