PEACE – a word to describe the inner tranquility, and quietness without disturbance or strife. Peace is the opposite of war. Only God can give peace in your soul (Romans 5:1; Psalm 107:9).

PENTECOST – an annual festival in Israel. It is celebrated on the 50th day after Passover. The Holy Spirit came on the 50th day (Pentecost) after the Lord’s Supper with the disciples in the Upper Room (Acts 2).

PERFECT – This word in the Bible is not the same as the word perfect today. In the Bible perfect means being complete or finished. “Make you perfect (complete) in every good work to do his will” (Hebrews 13:21).

PHARISEE – means separatist. These people were very strict in their religion. They observed the ceremonial laws as the only way to be close to God. They criticized Jesus for breaking the laws when He ate with publicans and sinners (Matthew 9:9). Jesus denounced the Pharisees as very religious on the outside, but dead on the inside (Matthew 23:27).
