After the death of Moses, God said to Joshua, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed (stress): for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest“ (Josh. 1:9). Joshua was alone deciding what to do as a leader. Joshua decided to go forward because the Lord was with him as He was with Moses. So when you are afraid or dismayed (have stress), as Joshua, remember the Lord is also with you. Be strong and have courage.
When we face fear and discouragement we have two choices. (1) We can be afraid and discouraged. (2) We can be strong with good courage.
Sometimes you worry about the world. You fear Covid. Sometimes you feel like giving up. You forget God and do. not go to church. You stay home. You need to stop thinking about all the bad things and be strong and of good courage. Go forward and go to church. Be faithful and serve the Lord. As you go, the Lord will go with you and make you strong and give you courage to keep going for the Lord. I am deaf and I have had many times of fearing operations, sickness, and discouragement, but I am still going. I want to stay strong and not be afraid because as I go, the Lord goes with me. I am deaf. If I can do it, so can you.
