The following is not political but just my personal opinion. What do Americans really want? One man was asked, “Do you have a hard time making decisions?” He replied, Well, yes and no.” Recently, I watched all the news channels to get all viewpoints. Republicans said, “This is what Americans want.” Democrats said, “This is what Americans want.” Candidates said, “This is what Americans want.” But no one asks us what we really want. See us, we are here! It seems political parties are running America instead of the people. As someone said, “The inmates are running the asylum.” One politician said, “Allegations, allegations, that’s all I hear. What I want to know is who are the alligators?” As Paul Harvey would say, “Well, Americans, what do you really want?” In the next few months we will know the rest of the story.

This reminds me of a simple story I read, “At a typical little league baseball game a mother did not like the ump’s call against her precious little boy. She stood and yelled, “I want a new ump, I want a new ump.” Soon the crowd joined in with her, “We want a new ump. We want a new ump.” The ump finally walked over toward the crowd and yelled, “I want new parents, I want new parents.” Maybe it is time for us to stand up and yell, “We want new leaders, we want new leaders.” One preacher said, “I am a democrat because it was those republicans (publicans) who gave Jesus a hard time.” Know that God did not call us to change America, but change Americans. During these critical times, we should once again pray and seek God for His guidance and blessings for our country. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chr.7:14). “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Pro. 14:34). We can disagree, and debate, but let’s not divide. We need unity within the United States. We are still one nation under God and in God we trust. America is great because we have a great God. Many do what seems to be right in their own eyes (Pr. 21:2). “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”(Psa. 33:12). I need you, you need me, and we all need God. One can do much, but many can do much more! We know what we really want, so let’s stand and sing together as one nation, “God bless America.”
