GOD WANTS ALL DEAF PEOPLE TO KNOW JESUS
Many deaf people do not know Jesus Christ. There are many Deaf who have never known about Jesus. Who is Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The New Testament tells about the birth, life and death of Jesus. The first four books, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all write the story of Jesus Christ. What does the Bible teach about Jesus Christ? You can read about the birth of Jesus in Luke and Matthew. Luke shows that Jesus was born as a baby. Jesus had a mother. Her name was Mary. Jesus was a human as He became tired (John 4:6), needed sleep (Matthew 8:24), was hungry (Matthew 21:18), was thirsty (John 19:28), had pain (Luke 22:44), and died (Mark 15:44-45). All these things prove that Jesus was a man and also Jesus was God. Jesus did things that no man could do. Jesus had power over demons (Mark 5:11-15), death (John 11:38-44), wind (Matthew 8: 26-27), nature (Matthew 21:19), and Jesus had power over sin (Matthew 9:2,6). Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is both God and man in the same body.
Write: John 20:28: “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My L____ and my G____.”
Jesus was Born Different. Jesus was not born as you, but He had a different birth. Mary did not have sex with a man (Luke 1:34). Jesus did not have an earthly father. Jesus was born by union (join) of the Holy Spirit and Mary. This is called the Virgin Birth. Jesus was the only person born without sin. Jesus was also the Son of God. The Holy Spirit placed the seed in Mary, the mother. Mary became pregnant. Mary had a Son, and God named Him Jesus.
Write: Matthew 1:21: “And she shall bring forth a S_______, and thou shalt call his name J________: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
The life of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was a good and wonderful man. He started His ministry when He was 30 years old. He did many wonderful works. Jesus healed people. Jesus taught people. Jesus did many miracles. Jesus Christ is perfect without sin and He never sinned. Jesus never had a bad thought or did bad things. Jesus never made a mistake. Jesus was perfect. Only Jesus could take your place for sin.
Write: I Peter 2:22: “Who did N___ sin…”
Jesus Christ died for you. Jesus Christ died an awful death. He was crucified. Crucify means that Jesus was nailed on a cross. The cross was made from rough (not smooth) wood. Nails were driven into Jesus’ hands and feet. The cross was then dropped into a hole in the ground. Jesus was left to die. Jesus had much pain. Jesus had much suffering. A soldier used his spear to cut the side of Jesus. Jesus’ blood flowed from His body. Jesus Christ died on the cross. Jesus was buried in the tomb for you. Jesus Christ died for you.
Write: Luke 23:33: “And when they were come to the place, which is called C_________, there they C____________ him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”
Illustration: Many years ago two brothers went to school. One brother was big and strong. One brother was small and weak. The teacher made a rule – no talking. If a student talked, he was whipped. One day the teacher saw the small, weak brother talking. He broke the rules. He must be punished. The teacher must punish the small, weak brother. The big, strong brother went to the teacher and said, “Punish me and let my brother go free.” So, the teacher punished the big, brother. This is a picture of what Jesus did for you. Jesus took your place and your punishment of sin upon himself. Jesus died in your place.
Jesus rose from the grave for you. But Jesus did not stay dead! Three days later Jesus came alive again. This is called the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus told His disciples that He would come alive again. The government put soldiers to guard the tomb of Jesus. God made the soldiers sleep. An angel rolled the stone away from the tomb. Jesus came alive again and rose from the grave. Jesus Christ is God.
Write: Matthew 28:6: “He is N_____ H________: for he is R__________, as he said. Come, see the place where the L_________ l_______.”
Jesus Christ went to Heaven. Jesus lived 40 days on earth after He came alive. Jesus talked with many people after He came alive. Then one day, Jesus told His disciples that soon they would receive the Holy Spirit to give them power and comfort and to teach them to do the work of God. He would help them to preach the Gospel to the world and to teach others to become followers of God. Then Jesus slowly began to rise into heaven. This is called the ascension (rising) of Jesus Christ. Jesus is now alive and sitting at the right hand of God.
Jesus Christ will come again. Jesus is in heaven now! But He will not stay in heaven. He is coming back again. When is Jesus coming again? The Bible does not give a time or date. The Bible does teach that Jesus will come again. Several things will happen when Jesus comes again. The most important truth is that all who have accepted Jesus as Savior will go to Heaven to live with Jesus forever. The Bible promises that Jesus will come again (I Thessalonians 4:13-18). Jesus will come quickly (I Corinthians 15:52) and that Jesus, Himself, will come back (Acts 1:11). When Jesus comes again, all the dead in Christ will come alive again and be changed with new bodies (Philippians 3:21).
Write: I Thessalonians 4:13-18: “But I would not have you to be ignorant,=brethren, concerning them which are asleep (in the graves),that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that J_________ died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him… For the L______ himself shall descend from H_________with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then W____ which are alive and remain shall be C________ up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the L______. Wherefore comfort one another with T_________W_________.”
God wants you to be ready when Jesus comes. If Jesus came today, would you be ready? Would you be ashamed? Jesus wants you to live right. Christians should want to do things that please God. Christians should go to church, read the Bible, pray, talk to others about Jesus, go to good, clean parties, and enjoy the good things of life. When Jesus comes will He find you ready? You may not have a long time to work. Help change the deaf world for Jesus Christ.
One day Jesus will return and it come be today. If not today, maybe tomorrow. Many of your friends and family are not ready. Warn them and witness to them that they need to be saved. If you do not help them… Who will?
Write: II Peter 3:11: “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons (Christians) ought ye to be in A_____ holy C___________ and G_____________.”
