GOD’S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE
Does God have a will for your individual life? Can a person decide and chose what to do with his life? God gives man the freedom of choice. He has the power to make decisions. God will honor your freewill and He will not force you to obey Him. You have been given a great power known, the power to decide. The devil cannot make you sin, and God
cannot make you serve. Serving the Lord is your choice and decision.
Man is different than animals – Gave mankind…
- A mind to think
- A heart to know
- A will to decide
God has given you freedom to choose and decide. Man has a mind to think, a heart to know and a freewill to decide. Adam was given freedom to name the animals. He did not need to pray and seek the will of God for the names. God told Adam and Eve that all the trees in the garden belonged to them but only one belonged to God. He gave the man the liberty and freedom to eat from all trees but one. Adam and Eve did not have to pray about what to eat and not eat. Adam did not pray and ask God to help him decide what to eat today. Eve could plan the meals without the help of God. They could discuss and decide without the help of God. In your life God has a direction, paths, and ways, you should follow (Proverbs 3:5-6). God will direct your paths and your ways you should go. As you go you will know the will of God. God has a way for you to go, but He will not force you to take it. You have the freedom to choose.
The Greatest Power You Possess
The greatest power you possess is the power to make decisions. God will not force you against your freewill. You alone are responsible for your choices. In Genesis 2:16-17, God gave Adam a choice. God gave Adam all the trees in Eden but only one belonged to God. He was not to take of that one tree. Adam had the power to choose to obey. Adam made the wrong choice and it brought sin (Romans 5:12).
Many Have Made Good Decisions – Many made bad decisions
Noah: People were given the choice to enter the Ark or remain outside in the flood (Genesis 7:1-16). Only eight made the right decision.
Moses: The people built a golden calf and Moses challenged them to decide which God they would follow (Exodus 32:26). Some refused to follow God. Moses made a lifetime decision to follow God (Hebrews 11:25). Those who decide to follow God never regretted their decision.
Elijah: The people were following the false idol of Baal, Elijah challenged them to decide and stop being between two opinions (I Kings 18:21). Those who decided to follow Baal were killed. They made bad decisions.
Jesus: Gave people the choice to follow Him (Mark 1:17). He called but it was their decision. Many turned back and walked no more with Him (John 6:66). (…Continue next page)
