JEHOVAH – The most frequently used Hebrew name of God in the Old Testament. It means the self-existing, eternal God. He is the Lord God Jehovah!
JERUSALEM – It is the name of a city meaning “City of Peace.” It is also known as “Salem,” “Holy City,” “City of David,” or “Zion.” It was the major city for the Jews in the Old and New Testaments. In Revelation 21:2-3, the Lord refers to the city coming down from heaven as the New Jerusalem.
JESUS – The name Jesus means “Jehovah (God) is salvation.” The Hebrew name means “Joshua” or “Saviour.” Jesus is the earthly-human name given to the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God (Luke 2:21).
JEW – The name Jew was given to the tribe of Judah. Later it became the name referring to the Hebrew nation. The name Jew distinguished them from the Samaritans and the Gentile nations (Acts 14:1). The words Hebrew and Jew are both the same word.
JOY – Joy is an inner gladness. Happiness comes from things that happen to you. Christians can have joy no matter what happens to them. Joy is from God (Nehemiah 8:10)
