What’s Up? Pastor Fred & Sherrie Adams invited Pastor Bruce & Vicki Kelly, of Deaf Baptist Church, Smyrna, GA, and their friends for 35 years, to preach a revival at Sword Deaf Baptist Church, Clinton, TN. Along with the good Bible preaching, they enjoyed wonderful fellowship. (SWM is thankful for these deaf pastors who are faithful servants of the Lord.)

What’s Up? A gigantic congratulations to Walter & Dovie Pittman, Grand Prairie, Texas, who celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary on November 1. Their lives together includes serving the Deaf at Calvary Baptist Church, and for many, many years faithfully taking deaf young people to the Bill Rice Ranch, Murfreesboro, TN, for deaf camp. 80 years – Inconceivable and Unbelievable! – TC

What’s Up? Missionaries to the Deaf, Bob and Brenda Himes, Bill Rice Ranch Missions, continue to minister to the Deaf in the Philippines via Zoom. Currently, the Himes’ are unable, because of COVID, to return to the field. They are thankful for the technology that enables them to continue serving the Deaf. Prayer request: Bob’s wife, Brenda, has been undergoing chemotherapy to treat cancer and will soon have surgery. Pray for her healing. Contact: hhdeafmat@gmail.com.

What’s Up? Harvest Deaf Ministries, Ringgold, GA, Pastor Reggie Rempel, announce the new date for their Deaf Men’s Retreat. The event will be at the Park Grove Inn, Pigeon, Forge, TN, January 20-22, 2022. Registration forms available to print out at www.harvestdeaf.org.

What’s Up? Missionary Jim Sloan recently ended his over 4,000 miles of fall travels. He will end the year teaching “Church Interpreting” at Sword Deaf Bible College, Clinton, TN, November 22 – December 10. He reports good health and a continued burden for reaching Deaf in other countries.

What’s Up? Ministry of Helps Missionaries with SWM, Larry & Diana Galyen, report enjoying their “Fair Ministry” this fall. They have seen many souls come to Christ. They are scheduled to be involved in two additional fairs this year. Even though Larry is retired, he stays very busy in serving the Lord. He is also very active in the technical and social media side of SWM. He is worthy of your prayers and support. They are a valuable part of this ministry. What’s Up? SWM’s Missionary to the Deaf, Joshua JT Gorham, is an effective and exciting preacher for the Deaf and has a great connection and rapport with young people both deaf and hearing. Contact him for special meetings and mission conferences. Recently he was guest missionary at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Trenton, GA, Pastor Chris Ware. What’s Up? Al & Dolly Cooper, retired Deaf Leaders at Capitol City Baptist Church in Holt, Michigan, visited SWM. They are still involved in the Deaf ministry, but since retirement, he has also written and published several books. BTW: He is writing books for both families and children. How do I know? What’s Up? Mr & Mrs Frank Parsons, Columbus, OH, after visiting Harvest Deaf Ministries, stopped by for a visit at SWM. It was a joy to see them and share memories.

What’s Up? Missionary John Olson (Go Deaf Missions) and family along with Anna Gilkey and SWM’s Missionary JT Gorham, flew to Lima, Peru, on November 4 to minister for four weeks at Efata Deaf Ministries.

    I am looking for my brother’s pastor and church. He had open heart surgery on Tuesday past and he is in ICU in Emory MidTown and he really could use someone / his pastor to come and talk to him. Please call me ASAP to let me know this is the right church and that the pastor can go and visit soon.
