What’s Up? Big announcement from SWMI Missionaries Ben & Marie Muldoon and their three babies, “We now have plane tickets to Romania.” They will fly out January 17, 2023. After getting settled in, they will begin Romanian language school and later Romanian sign language. Their goal is to establish a deaf church and train men to reach the silent world. www.muldoons4d.com

What’s Up? Big announcement from Deaf Missionaries Michael & Ruth Douglas and their two daughters. “We have purchased plane tickets and plan to return to our field of service in Brazil, December 5, 2023.” They have been presenting their ministry in churches to raise additional support. Their support level has increased to 88% with hope that it will soon be 100%.

What’s Up? This year Bob Bricker celebrates 50 years as a pastor to the Deaf. A deaf brother gave him a heart for the Deaf. He began a Deaf church in his home 50 years ago and serves now as Deaf Pastor at Bible Baptist Church in York, PA. Bob, thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord and to the Deaf.

What’s Up? Jerry and Starla Jordan from Alaska visited SWM and helped with computers and other projects. Thank you for your much-needed help!

What’s Up? Friends Kevin and Debra Whiting attended the recent WI Fantastic Saturday. They help in the deaf ministry at Falls Baptist Church in Memomonee Falls, WI.

What’s Up? Sympathy to the family of Cathy Hart Harrison, Chattanooga, TN, who passed away on November 6, 2022. She and her husband, David, served several years in the Helps Ministry of SWM. Cathy was a faithful and loving wife and mother and a faithful servant of the Lord. David remains active in his ministry to help Hard-of-Hearing individuals and to make the public more aware of this need. See: LetMyPeopleHear.com

What’s Up? Sympathy to the family of Eleanor Slater (92), Spring Lake, MI, who passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was the mother of SWM’s Donna (Reed), Condra, and grandmother to SWM’s Nicole Condra who is serving on the mission field in Romania. She was a faithful wife and loving mother of 5 children and 48 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as a faithful Christian and servant of the Lord. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

What’s Up? Welcome to SWM’s newest team member, Jackie Bradford. She is a much needed addition to the home office staff, assisting all who are involved in the ministry. She is married to Ronny and they have two daughters.

What’s Up? SWM, after years of saving and a special gift, now has a good ministry van. It has already been used to carry 12 to the Bill Rice Ranch memorial service for Betty (Rice) Cabbage.

What’s Up? Earl & Mary Winters, members of a local supporting church, Edgewood Baptist, introduced Bernie & Norma Maret of Maritime Ministries to SWM. Norma stocked up on materials to use in their ministry.

What’s Up? SWM’s Canadian (Deaf) missionaries Jeremy & Jenna Ring are on the road again. They taught sign language and helped establish deaf ministries in Coaldale, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba. They also were part of a team to evangelize Coaticook, Gatineau, Brockville, and Montreal. They are thankful to be on the road again.

What’s Up? Old friends, Don Cabbage & Ted Camp met again at the Bill Rice Ranch memorial service for Betty Rice Cabbage. They both have a heart for Deaf people and have given their lives to reach them with the Gospel. They shared many good memories!
